Maeve
Finding out we were pregnant with Maeve was one of the most exciting days ever. We anxiously awaited her arrival.
I started showing signs of preeclampsia at 32 weeks so I was admitted to Abington Hospital. Only 3 days later, she was born at 33 weeks. I had developed HELLP Syndrome and she needed to be delivered via an emergency c-section.
Her birth was a very scary and unknown time for us. Having been placed on magnesium sulfate for the second time since I entered the hospital, it was a very confusing time for me. To this day, I struggle with the fact that my memories of her birth are very scattered and incomplete.
I am very grateful for the support of my husband who was able to be with her while I was confined to the mom unit. From the minute she was born she was a fighter. Her Granny immediately called her Mighty Maeve. Together we grew stronger everyday. After 11 days, it was my time to leave the hospital. Having to leave without her was the one of the hardest days. She quickly learned to breathe and eat on her own and was able to leave the NICU after only 21 days.
Today Maeve is a sweet & caring little girl who is always using her creative personality to bring smiles and laughter to her friends and family. Be on the lookout for Mighty Maeve on American Ninja Warrior. She is fearless on the ninja warrior course.
